Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter
This prize draw is organised by The James Hutton Institute (“the Institute”).

2. Eligibility
This prize draw is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over.
Employees of the Hutton, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.

3. How to Enter
To enter, participants must complete the quiz and submit their details via the entry form.
To be eligible for the prize draw, participants must opt in to receive communications from the Institute.
Individuals may complete the quiz without opting in; however, they will not be entered into the prize draw.
Only one entry per person will be accepted.

4. Entry Period
The prize draw will open at 9am on 3 June 2026 and close at 5pm on 24 June 2026.
Entries received after the closing time will not be included.

5. The Prize
The prize is one bottle of whisky.
The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is available.
The Hutton reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative of equal value if necessary.

6. Selection and Notification of Winner
The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the entry period.
The draw will take place within 7 days of the closing date.
The winner will be contacted using the email address provided.
The Hutton reserves the right to select an alternative winner if the winner does not pass age verification checks.
If the winner does not respond within 7 days, the Hutton reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

7. Communications and Consent
By opting in, participants agree to receive communications from the Hutton, including updates, news and opportunities to engage with our work.
Participants may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in communications.

8. Data Protection
Personal data will be processed in line with the Hutton’s Privacy Notice.
Data will be used for the administration of the prize draw and, where consent is given, for communications purposes.

9. Publicity
The Hutton may invite the winner to participate in promotional activity. Participation is entirely voluntary.

10. General
The Hutton reserves the right to amend or withdraw the prize draw if necessary due to circumstances beyond its control.
By entering, participants agree to these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Scottish law.
